Scope
This Policy applies to:
- Users seeking services (“Customers”).
- Service providers listing services on NeedIt (“Providers”).
- Visitors to our websites, dashboards, and help pages.
Data we collect
Information you provide
- Account data: name, email, phone, password or social login ID.
- Profile & listings (Providers): photos, skills, pricing, service area, description.
- Identity verification (optional/where required): government ID, business certificates, selfie verification.
- Communications: messages, ratings, reviews, support tickets.
- Payments: billing name, address (card details processed by our payment partner; we don’t store full card numbers).
Information collected automatically
- Device & log data: IP, device model, OS, app version, crash logs, diagnostics.
- Identifiers: advertising IDs, analytics IDs, push tokens.
- Location data: precise or approximate location (when you grant permission) to show nearby services and improve matches. For Providers using on-the-way/at-job features, location may be collected in foreground and (if you agree) background.
- Usage data: screens viewed, features used, session times, referral source.
Information from third parties
- Social sign-in: name, email, profile photo from Google/Apple/Microsoft (as permitted by you).
- Payments: limited payment status from our payment gateway.
- Maps & geocoding: map tiles, geocoding results from map providers.
How we use data
- Create and manage your account; enable log-in and authentication.
- Provide core features: search, list, book, chat/call (VoIP/ masked numbers if enabled), rate & review.
- Show relevant Providers near Customers using location and preferences.
- Process payments, subscriptions, refunds, and invoices.
- Send service, security, and transactional notifications (including push/SMS/email/WhatsApp where permitted).
- Monitor, debug, and improve performance; detect fraud and abuse.
- Personalize content and measure campaign performance (e.g., Meta/Google ads, if used and where permitted).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
Legal basis (India/EU)
- India (DPDP Act, 2023): We process based on your consent, for performance of a service you requested, for compliance with law, and for legitimate uses consistent with your reasonable expectations.
- EU/EEA (GDPR): consent, contract necessity, legitimate interests (e.g., security, service improvement), and legal obligations.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this Policy, to provide the Service, comply with legal/ accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We may retain de-identified or aggregated data.
Security
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls, least-privilege, monitoring). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; you are responsible for maintaining your account credentials’ confidentiality.
Your rights & choices
- Access/Portability: request a copy of your data.
- Correction: update inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: request deletion where permitted (some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate purposes).
- Consent withdrawal: where processing is based on consent.
- Marketing controls: opt-out of non-essential emails, push, or SMS in settings or via unsubscribe links.
- Grievance: contact our Grievance Officer (see below). EU users may also contact their supervisory authority.

Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for children. In India, we do not knowingly process personal data of persons under 18 without verifiable consent as required by law. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to delete it.
International data transfers
We may store and process data in India and other countries where we or our processors operate. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses) to protect your information across borders.
Third-party services
Our Service integrates third-party services such as:
- Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging).
- Payment gateways (e.g., Razorpay/Stripe) for payment processing.
- Maps/Places for location and geocoding.
- Meta/Google Ads for campaign measurement and attribution (if used).
