1. Who we are
Book My Places ("we", "us", or "our") operates a rental discovery and property-listing platform in India, also known as Book My Space in our mobile experience. This policy applies to renters, property owners, and visitors who use our services.
2. Information we collect
We may collect the following categories of information when you use the platform:
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, and login role (renter or owner).
- Profile and listing data: property descriptions, photos, location, pricing, and amenities you submit as an owner.
- Booking and enquiry data: messages, booking requests, viewing preferences, and communication history between renters and owners.
- Technical data: device type, app version, IP address, browser type, operating system, crash/diagnostic logs, and usage logs to improve security and performance.
- Analytics and advertising identifiers: app-instance IDs, advertising IDs (such as Google Advertising ID on Android or Identifier for Advertisers on iOS, where available), and related device signals used for analytics, app-install attribution, and campaign measurement.
- Usage and event data: screens viewed, searches, listing views, booking/enquiry funnel events, login/registration events, and similar in-app actions.
- Location data: city, state, or area you search or list, when you provide it or enable location-related features.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to operate and improve the platform, including:
- Creating and managing your account and authentication (including OTP verification).
- Displaying property listings, processing enquiries, and facilitating chat between users.
- Sending service-related notifications about bookings, messages, and account activity.
- Measuring app usage, feature performance, and product improvements through analytics.
- Measuring app installs, re-engagement, and advertising campaign performance (including Meta / Facebook App Install and related App Events).
- Responding to support requests submitted via Contact Us or in-app help.
- Detecting fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms & Conditions.
- Complying with applicable laws and lawful requests from authorities.
5. Analytics and advertising partners
Our mobile apps use third-party software development kits (SDKs) to understand how the Service is used and to measure marketing performance. These partners process data on our behalf or as independent controllers under their own policies:
- Google Firebase Analytics — collects app usage and event data (such as screen views, searches, listing interactions, and conversion funnel events) to help us analyse product performance. See Firebase Privacy and Google Privacy Policy.
- Meta (Facebook) App Events / App Install tracking — the Meta SDK may automatically log Mobile App Install and app-activate/session events, and we may also send events such as registration, login, search, content view, and checkout/enquiry initiation. Where enabled, Meta may collect advertising identifiers and, after you sign in, limited account identifiers (for example user ID, email, phone, or name) for event matching and campaign measurement. See Meta Privacy Policy.
You can limit advertising ID use in your device settings (for example, reset or opt out of ad personalisation on Android, or enable App Tracking Transparency / Limit Ad Tracking on iOS where applicable). Analytics and attribution partners may still receive limited technical data needed to operate the Service.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. You may request account deletion subject to outstanding bookings, legal holds, or legitimate business needs.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including secure authentication and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure; please use a strong password and keep your OTP and login credentials confidential.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may:
- Access or update profile information through your account settings.
- Withdraw consent for optional communications where applicable.
- Request correction or deletion of your data by contacting us (see Contact below).
- Disable certain device permissions (such as notifications) in your device settings.
- Control advertising identifier / tracking preferences through your device or OS settings as described in section 5.
10. Children
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us data, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we publish revisions. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
